Leaves Shadow

Hi my name is Carol,

I am a qualified Counsellor and registered member MBACP of a regulated governing body the BACP. I graduated in 2016 from an accredited course.

Having worked in other sectors I decided to start my journey to becoming a Counsellor in 2011 gaining a Certificate in Counselling Skills before going on to University. After graduating in 2016 with a B.A.(Hons) Degree in Counselling Studies and an Advanced Diploma in HE in Person-Centred Therapy I then went on to work in private practice.

Previously I worked f2f before having some time out, then Covid-19 came along. I now work remotely offering online zoom or telephone counselling sessions for individuals, adults 18+ male or female, older adults, students/trainee counsellors, and employees/individuals who work shift patterns or unsociable hours.

I work part-time as an Affiliate Counsellor for EAP's.

I work in an "integrative" way, meaning I draw upon theory tools and techniques from other approaches to tailor my work to meet the needs of the client. Person-Centred Therapy is at the core of all my work.

I work remotely from a home office location in the CM area of Essex, in the United Kingdom. I work under the legal jurisdiction of the "Courts of England & Wales". As a Registered Member of (BACP) British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I adhere to their code of conduct and required standards www.bacp.co.uk  including online and telephone competencies.

It is really important when seeking therapy to find the right Counsellor who has been through accredited training and is a member of a regulatory body. It takes many years to become a qualified Counsellor and it doesn't stop there, as professional Counsellors we attend regular CPD to keep our competencies up-to-date. It is also important to be transparent about our qualifications and experience. If you are reading this it is important for you to find the right help and support.

I hope the information on this website helps you make an informed choice!

Life does not always go to plan, we all experience the stresses and strains of every day life, challenges we experience along the way, which can contribute towards how we are feeling and help shape us into the person we are today. I know how difficult taking that first step towards therapy can be having been through my own lived experiences and therapy, and how important it is to find the right counsellor to meet your needs.

Therapy is not about the Counsellor providing all the answers, it is about listening and supporting the client to work through any difficulty or concerns, at their own pace.

Attending regular sessions is an important part of doing the work even though you may not want to at times. It is quite common for emotions such as fear and anxiety to surface or increase when looking at any difficulties during the therapeutic process.

Online and Telephone Counselling opens up the opportunity to have therapy from anywhere you choose, providing it is a safe and confidential space where you won't be disturbed.

The approach I use can be helpful for anything you want to look at, whether you are experiencing anxiety, want to talk about relationship difficulties, or experiencing work-related stress, loss, change, lack of confidence, pain related issues.

If you are looking to enter into therapy, please feel free to browse my site before making a decision. If you wish to make an appointment please use the contact form on this website.
